History
1932. Perivist
VisionClip takes inspiration from the ZEISS archives and from one style, Perivist, which in 1932 marked an important step in the era of eyewear, creating “a lasting good appearance”, a mantra in ZEISS philosophy still today. The classic Perivist style utilizes technology, representing and embodying ZEISS values, aimed to enable outstanding vision.

Why was Perivist so innovative?
The Perivist name comes from the Greek prefix peri = ‘around’ and the Italian or Spanish word vista = ‘view;’ and reflects an innovative feature of the today’s frames: the anatomically contoured temples that permit an unhindered lateral vision and a larger field of view.
Perivist was the first frame that could be anatomically adapted to the wearer's physiognomy, allowing a comfortable fit without slipping, and the pantoscopic shape guaranteed that the lenses always fit correctly in the frame.
Inspiring the future
Continuously inspiring the design and functionality of our eyeglasses to this very day, the Perivist has made a lasting impact on our conception of the perfect fit of frame and eyeglass lenses. Like Perivist, VisionClip is truly embodying ZEISS’ values aiming to guarantee best possible vision every wearer seeks.

How does your culture shape your design perspective?
My Italian heritage is deeply ingrained in my design philosophy. I am drawn to the emphasis on craftsmanship, where every detail is meticulously considered and executed with precision.
What holds the highest priority for you in good design?
For me, 'form follows function' is more than just a design principle, it's a guiding philosophy. This approach has been particularly influential in my work for ZEISS Eyewear, where I have had the privilege of designing products that embody the brand's commitment to quality and innovation.
Which phase of a design project do you enjoy most?
The initial phase of concept creation, the birth of a new idea, is undoubtedly stimulating and full of creative energy. However, the final phase, where everything comes together for production, holds equal importance for me. It's here, with meticulous attention to even the smallest details, that a good product becomes truly exceptional.
How do you maintain your continued success in design?
The world of design is very dynamic, so I actively seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge, ensuring my designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also technically sound and innovative. Genuine success in design stems from a deep understanding of the people for whom we create. I actively engage with users, conduct research, and gather feedback to ensure my designs are not only functional but also resonate with the needs and desires of the target audience.
Which is your favourite city to live and work?
Milan, Italy, is undoubtedly my favorite city to live and work. It's a captivating blend of global influences and quintessential Italian charm. I find myself constantly inspired by the city’s ever-evolving artistic landscape, from the grand fashion houses to the cutting-edge design studios. This harmonious balance between international flair and Italian authenticity is what truly captivates me about Milan. It's a city that embraces the future while cherishing its past, providing an unparalleled environment for personal and professional growth.
